in historic Sandwich, MA, surrounded by picturesque cranberry bogs, is a
small and select hobby kennel. With our combined experience of over 50
years in dogs as breeders, owners, and Liz, an AKC registered handler, we have brought our knowledge and devotion to the two breeds so
close to our hearts.
Our start came like many
others, we purchased a dog and were instantly hooked on the
"bug" of showing dogs. Along the way, we have been fortunate to
have had the pleasure of showing, owning, and breeding some of the really
good dogs this sport has had to offer. Their pictures and a small history
of some of them are on these pages. We hope to convey the beauty of them
to you, and the fun they have brought us through the years.
While we have been involved
in a few other breeds through sponsorship and careers, and in addition,
piloting our dogs to number one positions, winning Montgomery County KC
Best of Breed, onto a recording breaking Group Fourth, numerous group and
Specialty wins; our main focus has always been to breed the best Fox
Terrier and Pembroke Welsh Corgi possible. Our consistency to produce dogs
fitting the American Kennel Club standard, excelling in breed type,
structure, health, and temperament is foremost whenever we plan a
breeding. All pups that carry the Bluestone prefix are born and
raised here on Cranberry Hill. We do not sublet our litters out for others
to raise, as it is the experience of raising the litter and watching the
puppies develop structurally and personality-wise that is the real joy for
us. With each breeding we hope to have all winners, and to us winners are
not just in the show ring, but also those who would like to have a
healthy, happy, attractive companion.
We do have some basic
requirements of those interested in purchasing a puppy from Bluestone
Kennels. Important to us is pairing up the right pup with the right family
or individual. Not all dogs are suited for all people! Occasionally, we
will have a retired dog seeking a life as an only companion. Likewise, our stud dogs
are reserved only for girls who have been shown, or have points towards
their championship. All incoming girls must have the required and cleared
